A Polaris Slingshot high output alternator from Mechman, in 240 or 320 amps for 2015-2019 models with the GM Ecotec four-cylinder, supplies the current that open-air builds demand.
Without a roof to contain sound, a Slingshot audio system needs more amplifier power to be heard at speed, and that power has to come from the charging system. Underglow and light bars add more. The 240 amp unit suits a single amplifier and lighting. The 320 amp unit is the choice for multiple amplifiers or a large accent lighting setup.
Many Slingshot owners also run phone mounts, USB charging for helmet communicators and auxiliary lights for night rides, often on long cruises where everything runs at once.
Both are Mechman high output alternators built for the GM Ecotec engine used in 2015-2019 Slingshot models. Later Slingshots use a different engine, so confirm your year and engine in the vehicle finder above the products.
