Scion was built for young buyers who personalize everything, and audio was always part of that: tC coupes with trunk enclosures, xB boxes turned into rolling sound labs, xD hatchbacks with amplifiers under the floor. Each Scion high output alternator on this page fits a 2005-2016 tC, xB or xD and keeps those systems from dimming the lights.
The Scion tC alternator page covers 2005-2010 coupes with the 2.4L and 2011-2016 coupes with the 2.5L. The xB is listed for 2008-2015 with the 2.4L, and the xD for 2008-2014 with the 1.8L. Earlier xB models from before 2008 are not listed, so confirm your year in the vehicle finder before ordering. Each of these engines is a Toyota engine shared with models such as the Camry and Corolla, which is why most of these units also appear on Toyota pages.
Every Scion model here has both a 240 Amp and a 320 Amp option. A 240 Amp Scion high output alternator suits a single amplifier with a subwoofer, or a daily driver with a bigger head unit and a dash cam. 320 Amp is for multi-amp systems, SPL builds or an xB carrying lighting and a full amp rack. All units here are natural-finish standard housings. Many Scion owners also add underbody or interior lighting and a larger touchscreen head unit, which adds steady draw on top of the amplifier. If your lights dim on bass notes or the voltage gauge drops at idle with the system on, the factory charging system is falling behind.
Mechman high output alternators work well with a Big 3 and amp wiring kit and a battery from our battery collection sized for the system. Parts for plug or voltage changes are in harnesses and regulators. Scion was a Toyota brand, so its units also appear on all Toyota and Lexus alternators, and every make is on our alternator collection.
