XS Power D-Series AGM Batteries

The XS Power D-Series AGM batteries are the brand's starting and car audio line, built to crank the engine and feed amplifiers from one sealed absorbed glass mat case. Sizes run from small-format D545 and D680 units to Group 31, 34, 48, 51 and 65 replacements, with 14V and 16V models such as the D14-31 and D1600 for raised-voltage systems.

Choosing a D-Series AGM Battery

Start With Group Size and Terminals

Most buyers begin by matching the factory battery. The D-Series covers common BCI group sizes, including Group 24, 27, 31, 34, 34R, 47, 48, 49, 51, 51R, 65 and 78, plus the GC12-size D7500 and the U1R-size D975. An R suffix means reversed terminal positions, so a D3400R and a D3400 are not interchangeable unless your cables reach both ways. Measure the tray and hold-down, and confirm the terminal style before ordering.

Match the Voltage to the Charging System

The bulk of the range is 12V, which suits a stock or upgraded alternator in a normal vehicle. The D14-31 and D1400 are 14V batteries, and the D16-31 and D1600 are 16V. Those belong only in a system whose alternator or charger is set for that voltage, with amplifiers and other equipment rated for it, and many builders keep a 14V or 16V bank separate from the vehicle's 12V circuit. The D6V-38 is a 6V battery for applications designed around 6V units or series pairs.

Where XS Power D-Series AGM Batteries Fit

Under the hood, a D-Series battery serves as the main starting battery while also supporting the audio system. As amplifier power grows, it often makes sense to add rear batteries near the amps. Pair your D-Series AGM battery with XP-Series secondary batteries for reserve capacity, or compare the S-Series racing batteries if the car is built for the track rather than the street.

Wiring and Charging Tips

Upgrade the main power and ground runs when you install a larger battery, and fuse each positive cable close to the battery. Heavy 1/0 AWG power wire handles the current a big system draws over longer runs. If the alternator cannot keep up with your amplifiers, a high-output unit from our alternators collection reduces how deeply the battery cycles. For storage or recovery, use a charger with an AGM profile. Browse the full AGM batteries range to compare other series.
