The GMC Sierra alternator page covers gas trucks from 1987 to 2023, grouped by generation, and the Sierra HD page adds diesel trucks from 1996 to 2007 and 2014-2023 gas HD models. Full-size SUV owners have the Yukon and Yukon XL pages, both listed through 2018. The midsize Envoy with the 4.2L six or 5.3L V8 is covered from 2002 to 2009.
The 4.3L Safari is listed for 1990-1993 and 1996-2005, and the 1996-2016 Savana is split by 2-pin or 4-pin alternator plug, so check your connector before ordering. The S-15, Acadia and Terrain are covered too. Work vans running ladder racks, inverters and lighting, and camper builds with fridges and house batteries, both benefit from a bigger charging system.
After the vehicle finder narrows things down, pick output. 170 and 240 Amp units cover a light bar or single amplifier. 250 and 320 Amp suit winches, multi-amp systems and van upfits. 370 and 400 Amp are aimed at plow trucks, heavy inverter loads and competition audio. Most GMC units are billet, machined from solid aluminum for stiffness and heat control, and finishes run from natural and black to chrome, polished and bright colors.
