Mechman high output alternators · Authorized dealer
Hyundai owners often start with a Sonata or Tucson as a daily driver, then add a subwoofer, a dash cam or a bigger head unit. Others load a Santa Fe for camping with a cooler and chargers. Each Hyundai high output alternator here fits a 2010-2021 model with the 2.0L, 2.4L, 3.3L or 3.8L engine, and the vehicle finder narrows it to yours.
The selection is focused, and it splits cleanly by engine. Four-cylinder 2.0L and 2.4L models can choose a 240 Amp or 320 Amp unit: the Sonata from 2011 to 2019, the Tucson in 2010-2015 and 2018-2021 years, and the Santa Fe from 2013 to 2020. V6 models take a 240 Amp unit, covering the 3.3L in the 2013-2018 Santa Fe, the 2013-2019 Santa Fe XL and the 2012-2017 Azera, plus the 2012 Genesis with the 3.8L.
Because the two engine families take different alternators, the model name alone is not enough. A Santa Fe from 2013-2018 may carry either a four-cylinder or the 3.3L V6 depending on version, and each uses its own unit. Sonata and Tucson owners who add a powered subwoofer often notice the headlights dimming on bass notes first.
A 240 Amp Hyundai high output alternator is a practical step up for a single amplifier and subwoofer, or a crossover running a fridge and device chargers on trips. The 320 Amp four-cylinder unit gives more room for multi-amp systems or extra lighting on a Tucson or Santa Fe. Enter your year and engine in the vehicle finder first, because the Santa Fe is listed with both four-cylinder and V6 engines.
Hyundai and Kia are part of the same company and share engines, so the same Mechman high output alternators appear on our Kia alternator page for models like the Optima, Sportage and Sorento. Whichever badge you drive, add a wiring kit sized for the new output, a healthy battery from our battery range, and any adapters from harnesses and regulators. Other makes are on our full alternator collection.
