The Company additionally discloses personal information where you direct it to do so; to persons engaged to develop, administer and maintain the Site; to its professional advisers; in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets; and where necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, enforce its terms, or protect the rights of the Company or of others. The Company does not disclose personal information to any recipient that is neither identified above nor covered by the foregoing sentence.
The Site additionally loads content-delivery services that serve scripts and typefaces. Those services do not construct advertising profiles and do not receive personal information for any purpose of their own.
The Company sells and shares personal information within the meaning of Civil Code §§ 1798.140(ad) and 1798.140(ah). When advertising and analytics technologies are active on the Site, online identifiers, cookie identifiers, IP address, and information concerning the pages and products you viewed are disclosed to Google LLC. The Company receives no monetary consideration for those disclosures. The statutory definitions do not require monetary consideration, and the Company therefore treats the disclosures as a sale and a share and affords the corresponding rights.
In the twelve months preceding the effective date of this Privacy Policy, the Company has sold or shared the following categories: identifiers and online identifiers; internet or other electronic network activity information; commercial information; approximate geolocation derived from IP address; and inferences drawn from those categories.
The Company does not sell or share sensitive personal information. The Company does not have actual knowledge that it sells or shares the personal information of consumers under sixteen years of age, as contemplated by Civil Code § 1798.120(c).
Any of the following is effective, and none requires an account or verification of identity:
An election made through a browser control applies to the browser and device on which it is made. Clearing cookies, using a different browser, or using a different device will require a further election. That limitation is inherent in browser-based opt-out mechanisms. An opt-out does not affect processing for the purposes described in section 6 other than marketing and advertising, and does not prevent the display of advertising that is not targeted using information obtained from the Site.
The only sensitive personal information the Company collects is account log-in credentials, within the meaning of Civil Code § 1798.140(ae)(1)(D). That information is used solely to authenticate you and to secure your account, which is a use permitted by Civil Code § 1798.121(a) without further limitation. The Company does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. Accordingly, the right to limit conferred by Civil Code § 1798.121 is not engaged; you may nonetheless write to the Company to confirm the position.
The Company states below, for each category of personal information, the period for which that category is retained or, where no fixed period can properly be stated, the criteria used to determine that period, as required by Civil Code § 1798.100(a)(3).
| Category | Retention period or criteria |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | Retained for so long as necessary for tax, accounting, warranty and dispute-resolution purposes and to maintain your order history |
| Customer account information | Retained while the account remains open, and for twenty-four months following your last activity |
| Payment information | Not retained by the Company. Held by the payment processor under its own retention terms. The Company does not store complete payment card numbers. |
| Customer support communications | Retained for three years following the last contact |
| Marketing electronic mail and short-message lists | The Company does not presently operate an electronic mail or short-message marketing platform. Transactional order and account messages are sent through the ecommerce platform and retained with the order record. |
| Analytics identifiers | Event data is retained for two months. User-level data is retained for fourteen months from your most recent activity on the Site, that period restarting upon each subsequent visit. |
| Server and security logs | The Company does not operate its own web servers. Access logs are held by the ecommerce platform under its own retention practices. |
| Consumer requests and the Company's responses | Retained for twenty-four months, as required by California Code of Regulations, title 11, § 7101 |
Where a criterion rather than a fixed period is stated, that formulation is deliberate and reflects the Company's actual practice.
Global Privacy Control. The Site detects and honours the Global Privacy Control opt-out preference signal. Where the Site receives that signal from your browser, the Company treats it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for the browser and device transmitting it, in accordance with Civil Code § 1798.135(b) and California Code of Regulations, title 11, § 7025. No further action by you is required. Where the signal can be associated with an account, the election is applied to that account.
Do Not Track. No uniform standard governs the interpretation of the “Do Not Track” header, and the Company does not respond to it. This disclosure is made pursuant to California Business and Professions Code § 22575(b)(5). The Company does respond to Global Privacy Control, as stated above.
The Site uses cookies, pixels, tags, local storage and comparable technologies, falling into four categories.
Functional, analytics and advertising technologies are loaded only after you permit them through the consent control, and cease upon withdrawal of consent or exercise of the opt-out. Browser settings permitting the blocking or deletion of cookies are not a substitute for the opt-out described in section 8, and the Company does not treat them as such.
Depending upon your state of residence, some or all of the following rights are available to you. The Company honours each of them for any United States resident who asserts it, without regard to state of residence, save where verification is required by law.

Verification. For requests to know, to delete or to correct, the Company will verify that you are the consumer to whom the personal information relates, by requiring you to confirm information already held, such as the electronic mail address associated with the account or details of a recent order. Information supplied for verification is used for that purpose alone and is deleted upon completion. Verification is not required for the exercise of the opt-out right.
Authorized agents. A request may be submitted by an authorized agent. The Company will require written proof of authorization and may require you to verify your own identity directly, except where the agent produces a valid power of attorney.
The Company maintains administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restriction of access to those persons who require it. No safeguard is impenetrable and the Company does not warrant the security of information transmitted to it over the internet. Sensitive information should not be transmitted by electronic mail. This paragraph is provided with reference to the obligations at Civil Code § 1798.81.5 and the private right of action at Civil Code § 1798.84.
The Site is directed to adults. The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from any person under sixteen years of age and does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of any such person. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information may write to the Company at sales@caraudiobargain.com, and the information will be deleted. A California resident under eighteen years of age who has a registered account may request removal of content that person has posted publicly on the Site, pursuant to California Business and Professions Code § 22581.
California Civil Code § 1798.83 entitles a California resident to request, once per calendar year and without charge, the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes, together with the names and addresses of those third parties. The Company does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. A request for written confirmation of that position may be addressed to sales@caraudiobargain.com.
The Company is established in the United States and processes personal information there. Certain service providers process personal information in other jurisdictions. Where personal information is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the Company relies upon a recognised transfer mechanism, including the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or the equivalent instrument issued by the competent authority of the United Kingdom, unless the destination benefits from an adequacy determination.
The Site contains links to websites and platforms operated by others, and embeds content served by others. The privacy practices of those operators are their own and are not governed by this Privacy Policy. The loading of embedded content may permit the provider to receive your IP address and to set cookies; on this Site, embedded content of that kind is loaded only after you have permitted functional or advertising technologies.
The Company may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its practices or in applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the head of this document is revised whenever an amendment is made, and the amended Privacy Policy takes effect upon posting. In accordance with Civil Code § 1798.130(a)(5), this Privacy Policy is reviewed and updated at least once every twelve months.
The Company will not use personal information previously collected from you for a purpose materially different from the purposes disclosed in the version of this Privacy Policy in force when that information was collected, without first providing a new notice at collection and, where the law so requires, obtaining your consent. That obligation arises under Civil Code § 1798.100(b) and California Code of Regulations, title 11, § 7012(e).
