The Slingshot is Polaris's open-air three-wheeler, and owners love to wire it for sound: amplified speakers in the dash, lighting underneath, and audio that has to be heard at highway speed with no roof. Each Polaris high output alternator on this page fits the 2015-2019 Slingshot with the GM-sourced 2.2L Ecotec four-cylinder.
Two units are listed for the Polaris Slingshot, both for the 2.2L Ecotec years from 2015 to 2019. Later Slingshots switched to a Polaris-built engine and are not covered here, so confirm your model year and engine in the vehicle finder above the products before ordering. If you bought your Slingshot used, the engine is the quickest way to tell which era it belongs to.
An open cockpit needs more volume than a closed car, and that means more amplifier power. A 240 Amp Polaris high output alternator suits a single amplifier driving the speakers plus accent lighting. 320 Amp gives room for a second amplifier, a subwoofer enclosure behind the seats or a full LED lighting setup. Both are natural-finish standard housings.
On a Slingshot, the alternator also supports the factory gauges and lights, and riders often add phone mounts, USB chargers and a dash-mounted GPS unit. Upgrading the charging system first prevents the low-voltage protection mode some amplifiers drop into when the battery sags at idle, such as at a long traffic light with the music up.
