The 3.5L engine in the 350Z was revised partway through the run, and the alternator changed with it. Cars from 2003-2006 use one unit, and 2007-2009 cars use another. A turbocharged 350Z running a larger fuel pump, an intercooler sprayer or water-meth pump, an amp and subwoofer in the hatch area and auxiliary fans can overrun the original charging system quickly.
