A Kia Optima high output alternator from Mechman, in 240 or 320 amp form for 2011-2020 models with the 2.0L or 2.4L engine, gives loud builds the current to keep bass clean.
When an Optima trunk fills with subwoofers, the amplifier draw on long bass notes can pull voltage down fast, causing dimming lights and an amp that runs out of breath. The 320 amp unit is the logical choice for a multi-sub, high-wattage build. The 240 amp unit fits a single amp and sub setup with room for lighting.
Show cars also tend to run accent lighting and display screens while parked with the doors open, and the alternator has to replace that energy on the drive home.
