On the Accord, the engine decides more than the model year. The 1998-2002 3.0L V6 and the 2004-2007 3.0L V6 use different series. The 2003-2007 2.4L takes one series and the 2008-2012 2.4L takes another, while the 2008-2012 3.5L V6 has its own unit.
