Buick Park Avenue High Output Alternators

Whether your Park Avenue wears a supercharger or not, the year decides which alternator fits. Mechman lists a Buick Park Avenue high output alternator for the 1991-1995 cars and the 1999-2005 cars, covering both the naturally aspirated and supercharged 3.8L. For a highway cruiser carrying a trunk full of audio, or an inverter for long trips, start with your year.

Supercharged or Not, the Year Decides

It is natural to assume a supercharged 3.8L needs a different part. On this page it does not. The 1991-1994 3.8L and the 1991-1995 3.8L SC share one series, and the 1999-2005 3.8L and 3.8L SC share another, as the vehicle finder above will show. So the real question is early car or late car. Answer that, and you know which family to shop.

A Cruiser Built for Distance

Park Avenue owners drive far and drive comfortably. Many add a pair of subwoofers to the generous trunk, an amplifier for clearer highway listening, or an inverter to run a laptop or small cooler on the road. Some also fit brighter headlights or a dash camera for night driving on unfamiliar highways. A Buick Park Avenue high output alternator keeps those loads steady over hours of cruising, without leaning on the battery.

Output and Housing Choices

  • 240 or 320 Amp: the 1999-2005 family, well matched to one or two amplifiers.
  • 250, 370 or 400 Amp: the 1991-1995 family, from a measured upgrade to a large multi-amp system.

The early family includes billet housings, machined from solid aluminum for a sharp under-hood look, alongside standard cast units. Finish choices include natural, black and machined. Those early listings are marked custom fitment, so contact us to confirm before you order.

All of these are Mechman high output alternators. Pair your Buick Park Avenue high output alternator with a Big 3 wiring kit and a healthy AGM battery. LeSabre and Regal drivers share these same parts, and the LeSabre page covers its own years. Every other fitment is in the GM alternator collection.
