Acura CSX High Output Alternators

Acura sold the CSX in Canada, and most of them still live with long winters, short days and plenty of time idling with every accessory on. That is hard on a charging system once you add an amplifier. This page lists each Acura CSX high output alternator for the 2006-2011 2.0L, in 170, 240 and 320 amp versions.

One Fitment, So Focus on Output

The CSX is simple to fit. There is a single fitment, which the finder at the top of the page confirms: 2006-2011 with the 2.0L, using one Mechman series. If that is your car, every unit listed here is built for your engine, and your only real decision is how much output you need. That makes the CSX one of the easier Acura CSX high output alternator choices on our site.

Winter Loads Plus an Amplifier

Picture a February commute in the dark: headlights, heated seats, rear defroster, blower on high, wipers going, and a subwoofer amp in the trunk. At idle in traffic, that combination can outpace a worn charging system. An Acura CSX high output alternator restores the margin. Here is how to choose:

  • 170 amp: a single amplifier on a subwoofer with normal winter accessories.
  • 240 amp: a sub amp around 2,000 watts plus a component amp, used year round.
  • 320 amp: several amplifiers, or audio plus extra lighting for rural roads.

Cold also weakens batteries, so a strong alternator and a healthy battery work as a pair. Our AGM batteries cope well with cold starts and with deep bass loads.

Wiring and Sibling Pages

Finish the job with a Big 3 upgrade from our amp wiring kits. If the original plug is cracked, replace it from our alternator harnesses and regulators. The same series appears on other pages: early TSX owners have a page of their own, as do Honda Element owners. All units are Mechman high output alternators.
