Audio Apex CAB-M4 4 Channel Car Amplifier 1000 Watts RMS

I purchased one of these to play with and see what I thought. A few days later, I ordered 3 more for a total of 4 to replace my 4 DC Audio 175.4 A/B. That probably sounds crazy but so many amps advertise bandpass filters and they don't work. The DC 175.4 for instance only crosses over up to 300Hz. Why on earth have a BPF if it only goes to 300Hz? It's completely pointless. I also had the Crescendo 2000.4 and couldn't get that to work. These amps have bandpass filters that actually work. So I have 4 amps that do exactly what I tell them to do without the need for a DSP. l have a total of 5 highs amps that are all 4 channel. And when you have that many 4 channel amps, DSP setup can be a real nightmare. You actually need multiple DSP's. But with these amps, I set one for horns, one for mid bass, one for tweeters, and one for vocal 6.5's. Cutting off the top and bottom end wherever I need to for each amp. Making them play exactly in the range that I want them to. No more DSP woes. They put out excellent power and they have tiffany style RCA's (which my $660 DC amps don't have). The only complaint I can come up with is how sensitive the crossovers are. It makes dialing them in perfectly a little time consuming. But man it's worth it. Exceptional amp for the money. A bandpass filter that actually works. Imagine that.

Although I have thought about takin the other 4 channel amp out and test running the cab m4 I do enough of the install it and take it back out at my work to a point I want nothing to do with the install and take it back out at home Gotta love building ships for the Navy/ government

Im going to b straight foward with 2 cons for both the cab 22 and m4...1st con is the quality control on heatsinks...they need to b deburred and checked for deformities such as bent fins and scratches...seems as if they slice a bunch up n jus toss em in a bin...both my amps came with theese defects...does it hurt the performance?...not a damn bit!!!.. 2nd con is just personal preference...phillips bit set screws...GET RID OF THEM!!.. THEY STRIP WAY TO EASY..i replaced all on my bass amp..phillips and tightening down 0 gauge is not a fun process together.. both theese cons can b fixed and addressed with little to no cost to keep prices the same...now that thats out of the way..very very very impressed on the power theese boards put out...they sound clean...even at full tilt...running 4 pro mids and tweets off the 4ch and the gains are barely cracked...and to stay sounding that clean when i have the channels loaded to 2 ohm...kuddos...as for the cab 22.... .5 ohm daily on a set of 15s for 3mnths now no probs...give em clean power and airflow n theese things will outperform other budget manufacture 2ks easily...even the ones that look like usamps reprints lolol (sry johnathan)...all in all def worth ur money if on a budget!...fix the 2 cons 5 stars all day n night long...cant wait 2 get another 22 n strap...easy 5k budget there...gud job audio apex...and stay in the game...we need more options such as you!
